Psychological Immune Competence Among 14- To 16-year-old Art Learners And Its Integration Into Art Education
Main Article Content
Abstract
The paper provides an overview of the role of psychological immune competence in the personality development of 14- to 15-year-old art learners through a comparative evaluation of their responses to the Psychological Immune Competence Questionnaire (Oláh, 1999b) with learners receiving no art education. The aim of this study was to identify the effects of immersion in forms of the visual and performing arts on the psychological immunity of adolescents. We also examined differences in effects of genres of art (fine art and design, music, dance and drama) on the level of the factors of psychological immunity. We conclude the study with suggestions on how these results may be used in education through the arts.
